Step back in time and celebrate the holidays with charm and tradition. Shopkeepers and townsfolk in period attire bring the town to life, with beautifully decorated storefronts and streets adorned with festive lights, holiday trees, and wreaths. 

Delight in carolers serenading through the streets, holiday music, street theatre performances, warming outdoor fire pits, and horse & buggy rides that will transport you to another era.

Step back into a Victorian winter wonderland as Callicoon transforms into a storybook holiday village! Enjoy live holiday performances throughout the hamlet, including strolling Celtic harp music, traditional carolers, choir performances, and charming theatrical vignettes inspired by Dickens and classic holiday tales.

Stroll our festive streets and discover unique gifts and handmade treasures at the Dickens Holiday Market, featuring talented local artisans and makers at both the Western Inn and Callicoon Depot and visit the Farmhouse Project Maker’s Market at the Delaware Youth Center. Local retailers, galleries, and boutiques will be dressed for the season, offering Dickens-inspired specials, holiday treats, and plenty of good cheer.

Families will find fun around every corner—from Gingerbread Cookie Decorating and Gingerbread House Workshops to Krampus on Campus and free wreath-making with Buck Brook Alpacas. Have a mini photo session with Father Christmas, meet Santa, Adopt-a-Toy or enjoy a cozy Horse and Buggy Ride through the hamlet.

Throughout the afternoon, enjoy a variety of festive performances including carols from the SW High School Select Choir, River Rep Theatre’s mini adaptation of, ‘Yes, Virginia, There Is a Santa Claus,’ and Farm Arts Collective’s original roaming street theatre production,A Roving Christmas Carol,’ inviting spectators to follow the cast through town as scenes unfold in different locations.

Stop by the Callicoon Depot to learn about the Depot restoration, take part in the Silent Auction of paintings by Jay Brooks, and explore seasonal displays and community activities throughout the day.

As evening settles in, Callicoon truly sparkles. Victorian Carolers fill the streets, the Sullivan West Choir returns for a special evening performance at Seminary Hill, and a dazzling Fire Performance lights up the night. Warm up with holiday cocktails, mulled wine, Victorian-inspired tastings, and festive menus at Callicoon’s exceptional restaurants, breweries, and pubs.

For those wishing to step fully into the era—don your finest Victorian attire and join us for the First Annual Victorian Ball at the Western Inn Ballroom, complete with period dance lessons, refreshments, and all the charm of Christmas past.

'Yes, Virginia, There Is a Santa Claus' performed by River Rep Theatre | The Callicoon Depot Station (inside)

Inspired by the famous 1897 editorial that became a holiday staple, River Rep Theatre will perform an adaptation of the classic newspaper column, “Yes, Virginia, There Is a Santa Claus.” At 12pm and 1pm. (run time: 10 min.) FREE performances, noon & 1pm.

Cast: Thomas Cambridge, Christopher Parsons, Christopher Peditto and Elaine Schumacher. Directed by Arthur Aulisi and Christopher Peditto.

Come in out of the cold and enjoy holiday classics while sampling the Brewery’s Victorian Food Specials & Dickens-inspired Cocktail Menu.

Farm Arts Collective's 'A Roving Christmas Carol' | Beginning in front of The Western Inn

Join the Farm Arts Collective at for a new site-specfic performance, created for Dickens on the Delaware, written by Melissa Bell. 

‘A Roving Christmas Carol,’ is an abridged and delightful theatrical rendition of Charles Dickens famous novella, A Christmas Carol.

In this classic Christmas tale, Scrooge encounters three ghosts: Christmas Past, Christmas Present and Christmas Future. Scrooge confronts his life’s journey that has led him to a sad and miserly disposition. Throughout his encounters with the ghosts, he eventually arrives at a final spiritual transformation of empathy and generosity and his Christmas and life is changed for the better.

This street theatre perfomance will begin at The Western Inn, and invites spectators to follow the roving play to locations throughout hamlet where scenes from A Christmas Carol will be performed. This is a FREE performance for all ages.

Enjoy the beautuful voices of the Sullivan West High School Select Choir, singing hoilday classics. Beginging at the Callicoon Depot, and then throughout the streets of Callicoon visiting our local shops and Restaurants.

Victorian Carolers

As the sun sets, singers from the Delaware Valley Opera and our local musician community will fill the streets with carols and visit our wonderful restaurants, bars and pubs to serenade patrons with holiday favorites.

Fire Performance by Megan's Ultraviolet Wonderland | Starting at The Callicoon Depot

Join Megan’s Ultraviolet Wonderland for an exhilarating LED and fire performance sure to entertain and delight, beginning at The Callicoon Depot, and then lighting up the night in various locations throughout the hamlet.

The final day of the silent auction for origional paintings of the iconic Callicoon Train Depot, by celebrated local artist, Jay Brooks. Bids may be placed until 5PM. Winners will be announced directly following closing bids. 

Limited edition prints of two of the paintings will be available for purchase.  All proceeds to benefit the Callicoon Depot restoration.

Gingerbread Cookie Decorating | WS Public Library

Join us for this family favorite, our annual tradition of Gingerbread Cookie Decorating at the Western Sullivan Public Library. Decorate homemade cookies from Be Kind Bakehouse! Decorating starts at 12pm, and will go until 3pm or while supplies last. This is a FREE workshop.

*This is a drop-in program for families – everyone is welcome, but children ages 6-11 will get priority towards seats and cookies.

First Annual Victorian Ball | Western Inn Ballroom

Step back in time to the Christmases of Yore at the inaugural Dickens on the Delaware Victorian Ball, presented by the Western Inn. Revel in an evening of elegance, music, and merriment at the beautiful Western Inn Ballroom.

Come in your finest Victorian-inspired attire—and enjoy a magical evening of period dancing, delightful refreshments, and festive holiday cheer.

Victorian-era dance lessons start promptly at 6PM, followed by a DJ set and holiday cocktail classics. Period dress is encouraged but not required.

Guests may borrow costumes & accessories from the Dickens Costume & Accessory Closet, at Callicoon Brewing Company. (daily 12/8 – 12/11, noon – 8pm)
