Friday Night Artcrawl, 5-7pm
CALLICOON ARTWALK showcases the growing art and music scene in the picturesque hamlet of Callicoon on the Delaware. The event highlights the arts in unconventional places throughout the hamlet including storefronts, public spaces and the historic Callicoon Depot.
This event supports the continued growth of the local art and music scene by attracting locals and tourists alike to come experience our vibrant creator community. This event is FREE, open to the public and aims to be a major force for developing cultural initiatives in the Hamlet of Callicoon and Sullivan County.
Festivities officially kick off on Saturday at noon with 50+ local artists display paintings, drawings, photographs, ceramics, sculptures and video and a full day of Live Music, Theatre Performances, Film Screenings, Workshops, Artist ‘Meet & Greet’s, Book Signings, Demonstrations and more, throughout the day!
After Artwalk, head to one of the many wonderful restaurants or taverns in Callicoon for dinner, drinks and more live entertainment!
A handy map will be distributed with the full schedule of programming, work on view and participating locations.

A block of short films curated by local photographer, illustrator, painter, multimedia artist and curator, Elizabeth Ennis. *Please note this programming contains adult themes and is not suitable for children. Showings at 11am and 12pm. (run time: 1hr.)

Visit with local artist, Jay Brooks, as he paints en plein air at the historic Callicoon Train Station.

Visit with local artist, Kit Sailer, as she paints en plein air allowing visitors to observe her painting process. Her paintings are studies of natural forms, rhythms, and the patterns created by the landscape.

Lisa Lebofsky Plein Air Painting Demonstration | Seminary Hill Orchard & Cidery
Visit Lisa Lebofsky as she paints a landscape en plein air under the tent at Seminary Hill. Lebofsky finds inspiration and collects source material by traveling extensively, often to remote parts of the world, in order to immerse herself in different environments and cultures.
Please Note: The Tasting Room will be closed for meals, but we welcome you to join us outdoors, under the tent, for a glass of cider from our outdoor bar and a chance to take in sweeping views of the fall foliage.

Pumpkin Decorating Contest for Kids | Western Sullivan Public Library
Calling all ghouls, goblins, and creatures of the night! Western Sullivan Public Library welcomes creative spirits ages 0-18 to participate in our Pumpkin Decorating Contest for a chance to win some spooky prizes! WSPL staff will vote on their favorite pumpkins, and will award winners in three categories: Best Artistry, Most Creative, and Funniest Pumpkin! ‘Upcycle Your Threads’ Workshop with Momo Lima | Callicoon Depot Plaza
Art meets sustainability at this fun workshop for all ages. Bring an article of clothing (jeans, sweatshirt and T-shirst work great) or market bag to embellish. Artist Momo Lima will guide and assist with composition and layering, using stencils and fabric paint, transforming vanilla threads into wearable works of art!

Chekhov is alive and well in Bucks County, Pennsylvania, where adult siblings Vanya and Sonia reside in their old family home, mourning their lost dreams and missed opportunities. After their soothsayer/maid Cassandra warns Vanya and Sonia of impending doom, their movie star sister, Masha, arrives unexpectedly, accompanied by her hunky young lover Spike. When Masha reveals plans that will upend the family, long-repressed resentments bubble over in a weekend full of wild costume parties, voodoo dolls and surprise romance.

‘Diner Stories’ by Standing People Together | Callicoon Depot Pop-up Gallery
Diner Stories picks up the interlocking back stories of the four characters in Tiffany Esteb’s short play, Diner, that we performed at the Tusten Theatre in November 2024. Standing People Together developed this new full-length play with support from local community members and organizations who helped us develop the characters, write the script, and explore the themes of immigration, racism, poverty, and precarious work, which figured in the original Diner.

World Beat/Global & Jazz percussionist, Obi Kaye employs a fusion of many musical styles on a large variety of percussion instruments. His performances are infused with the sounds of Turkey, Brazil, Morocco, Pakistan, Egypt, Nigeria, Cuba and Puerto Rico, striving to explore sounds and culture and experiment through blending these styles together.

LIVE Music: Rich Klein | ENGN Platform
Rich Klein plays keyboards and sings classic pop/rock songs from the 1960s through the 1980s. His earliest musical memories are closely tied to Sullivan County – he heard Woodstock from a little over a mile away at age 8 from his Bethel camp that sat at the end of Happy Avenue. In 1967, while at nearby Camp Kennybrook, he first heard and fell in love with “Happy Together” by The Turtles. Klein is a former reporter for The Democrat and editor of The Sullivan Times, which was published from 2018 through 2022. He is also the author of The Catskills of Sullivan County: A Photography Journey.

NEW PEOPLE are Ramona Jan on Sound Saucer and Voice and Deerheart on percussion with special guest Eric Baylin on spoken word. Jan has worked with Talking Heads, Ramones, Brian Eno and more. She played on Eno’s Music for Films, Alternative 3. Today she combines Sound Saucer and Voice to create minimalist song-stories in several different languages including English, Cherokee, French, Portuguese and Italian. Deerheart has played with Poison Love and Eric Baylin is a poet laureate.

LIVE Music: Caswyn Moon & Faith Kelly | The Callicoon Depot Stage
Our favorite ‘Couple of Wanderers,’ these two solo artists travel together from the Catskills to share their songs to anyone, anywhere. Moon, brings his punky yet melodic Americana with old country undertones (accompanied by Faith on Moog synthesizer) and Kelly, her spacey folk rock’n’roll with Appalachian mountain roots.

Lucas’ music connects hearts and souls through the expressive artistry of his poetic imagery and storytelling.

Paintings by local artist Jay Brooks will be on display. Billing will be open until December 13th. Signed Limited edition prints are also available for purchase. Paintings have been generously donated by Jay Brooks. All procieeds to benefit Callicoon Depot restoration.
